Conference Review of ICAITA 2026

The 8th International Academic Conference on Artificial Intelligence Technology and Applications (ICAITA 2026) was successfully held in Beijing, China, from 21 to 23 August 2026. Hosted by Beijing Jiaotong University, the conference brought together experts, scholars, researchers, engineers, and industry professionals from universities, research institutions, and enterprises for in-depth discussions on cutting-edge theories, key technologies, and industrial applications in the field of artificial intelligence. It provided a high-level platform for academic exchange and collaboration.

Against the backdrop of the rapid development of artificial intelligence, ICAITA 2026 focused on important scientific challenges and application needs. The conference covered a wide range of topics, including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, intelligent robotics, intelligent transportation, smart healthcare, intelligent manufacturing, autonomous driving, AI algorithms and models, knowledge representation and reasoning, multi-agent systems, and AI ethics and governance. Through keynote speeches, specialized sessions, and oral presentations, the conference further promoted the exchange and integration of theoretical research and practical applications in artificial intelligence.

Opening Ceremony

On the morning of 22 August, the opening ceremony of the 8th International Academic Conference on Artificial Intelligence Technology and Applications was successfully held. Prof. Jiqiang Liu, Dean of the School of Cyberspace Security at Beijing Jiaotong University, delivered a welcome speech and extended a warm welcome to all participating experts and scholars. Following the opening ceremony, the guests took a group photo, and the conference officially entered the academic exchange sessions.

Keynote Speeches

The keynote session was chaired by Mr. Tao Zhang from Beijing Jiaotong University. Five keynote speeches brought together experts and scholars from China Telecom, Temple University in the United States, Nanjing University, Shandong University, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The speeches focused on cutting-edge topics including edge-cloud collaboration, security and privacy of large language models, embodied intelligence perception security, edge computing for low-altitude vehicle networks, and large-scale distributed learning, presenting the latest research achievements and important trends in artificial intelligence technology.

Prof. Jie Wu from China Telecom and Temple University delivered a keynote speech entitled“Efficient DNN Inference via Edge-Cloud Collaboration.” The presentation focused on improving deep neural network inference efficiency on resource-constrained devices, as well as computation offloading and edge-cloud collaboration. It discussed task partitioning, scheduling, and optimization methods under different network architectures.

Prof. Sheng Zhong from Nanjing University delivered a keynote speech entitled“Don’t Ask Casually! — A Preliminary Study on Prompt Security and Privacy Protection for Large Language Models.” The presentation focused on potential privacy and security risks in prompts for large language models and introduced related research from multiple perspectives, including textual prompts, vision-language models, and jailbreak prompts, providing new insights into the secure use of large language models and privacy protection.

Prof. Xiuzhen Cheng from Shandong University delivered a keynote speech entitled“Perception Security of Embodied Intelligence.” The presentation addressed security threats such as adversarial examples and cross-modal deception faced by multimodal perception systems on which embodied intelligence relies. Relevant defense mechanisms and research achievements were also shared, offering new perspectives on the security design of embodied intelligent systems.

Associate Prof. Rongqing Zhang from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) delivered a keynote speech entitled“Collaborative and Trusted Edge Computing in Low-Altitude Internet of Vehicles.” The presentation focused on task requirements, cross-domain resource allocation, regional load imbalance, and privacy protection in low-altitude Internet of Vehicles. It introduced research on UAV-enabled vehicular fog computing architectures, multi-agent reinforcement learning-based offloading schemes, and trusted collaborative computing.

Prof. Fan Wu from Shanghai Jiao Tong University delivered a keynote speech entitled“Large-Scale Distributed Learning with Large and Small Model Collaboration.” The presentation introduced recent research progress in large-scale distributed learning through the collaboration of large and small models, and discussed the potential advantages of heterogeneous model collaboration in scalability, real-time performance, personalization, cost efficiency, and privacy protection.

Special Session — Space-Air-Ground Integrated Information Networks and Security

In the afternoon, the conference featured a special session entitled “Space-Air-Ground Integrated Information Networks and Security.” Researcher Lixiang Liu from the Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered an invited speech entitled“Research and Analysis of Typical Mega-Constellation Systems.” The presentation introduced the development status, orbital operation, signal analysis, and typical cases of large-scale low-Earth-orbit constellations, and shared related research platforms and technological achievements for mega-constellation systems.

Prof. Haichuan Ding from Beijing Institute of Technology delivered an invited speech entitled“Network Design for Integrated Sensing and Communication in Cooperative Wireless Networks.” From a network-layer perspective, the presentation explored collaborative design issues in integrated sensing and communication systems, with discussions covering sensing task allocation, beam scheduling, and multi-node collaboration. It provided valuable insights into the development of networks integrating communication and sensing.

Oral Presentations

During the oral presentation session, young researchers from universities and enterprises, including China University of Geosciences, Beijing Wuzi University, Minzu University of China, Liaoning University of Technology, Hundsun Technologies Inc., Civil Aviation University of China, Sun Yat-sen University, Anhui University of Technology, Beijing Information Science and Technology University, Central Research Institute of Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd., Guangdong Police College, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and Chengdu Jincheng College, delivered engaging presentations on their latest research achievements.

The oral presentations covered a wide range of research topics, including high-resolution remote sensing image steganography, physics-informed cold-chain route planning, personalized federated learning security, open-vocabulary camouflaged object segmentation, multi-agent collaborative big data processing, urban logistics eVTOL scheduling, LiDAR-based 3D object detection, UAV-based disaster classification, dynamic FANETs, embodied intelligence, multi-objective multi-task optimization, personalized knowledge collaboration, intelligent greenhouse tomato harvesting, industrial weld defect detection, knowledge graph question answering for judicial documents, structural dynamics model updating, and knowledge graph-guided software program repair.

Through their presentations, the young researchers showcased the latest achievements and innovative ideas in artificial intelligence and intelligent systems. They also engaged in in-depth discussions with experts and participants on research methodologies, technical implementation, and practical applications, demonstrating the vitality of AI application research and the growing trend toward multidisciplinary integration.

Awards Ceremony and Closing Ceremony

In the final stage of the conference, an awards ceremony was held to recognize and encourage outstanding academic achievements and presentation performance. This was followed by the closing ceremony, marking the successful completion of all scheduled activities of the 8th International Academic Conference on Artificial Intelligence Technology and Applications (ICAITA 2026).

The successful organization of ICAITA 2026 further promoted academic exchange among experts and scholars in the field of artificial intelligence technology and applications, providing a valuable platform for showcasing cutting-edge research, exchanging innovative ideas, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
